Tips for Dealing With Itchy Scalps

Dealing with the unattractiveness and stress that comes from having an itchy scalp is something that no one wants to deal with. It can often start out from seemingly nowhere and can have a terribly negative affect on your confidence and comfort. However, the most important thing to do if you have the symptoms of itchy scalp is not to stress out and panic. In the following post we are going to look some effective ways of dealing with it.

Avoid Scratching

We know it’s incredibly difficult to do, but one of the worst things you can do when you have an itchy scalp is to scratch at it. This can abrade the tissue in your scalp and cause even more aggravation. Instead you can use a hair care product that takes inspiration from a skincare product, known as a scalp toner with anti-itch agents like benzalkonium chloride and cooling and calming camphor.

Exfoliate, Exfoliate and Exfoliate Some More

One tips you will find from a whole host of sources with dealing with an itchy scalp is to exfoliate. However, it’s important that when you do, you take a much milder and use a less abrasive method. A simple mask with gentle exfoliants, protective emollients and the moisturizing properties of Aloe Vera will be incredibly beneficial. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and clears the area, which in turn gives you a fresher and healthier scalp that is free of dirt, grime and other things likely to cause irritation.

Avoid Washing Your Hair and Scalp in Very Hot Water

Hot water, although we all love a soak in a nice hot shower, can do a lot worse than good. For one thing it can dry out your hair shafts and make it far more susceptible to environmental damages. That’s not all though, as hot water can be hugely detrimental to your scalp, damaging it and have a negative impact on its ability to grow hair successfully in the future.

Rather than trying to shower in those exceedingly hot temperatures, then, opt for warm, but not too hot water. If you want to have a bit of a change, you could use a nice cold rinse to finish washing your hair as this helps to boost circulation around your scalp, increases the natural shine of your hair and seals those cuticles, strengthening them in the process.

Healing Scalp Solutions and Treatments from Ens Bio

Is your head itching? Tried some of the above methods with less success than you’d like. Why not click here and discover a wide variety of different products from the Ens Bio range of scalp treatments and solutions. As healthy hair originates from a healthy scalp. Ens Bio products hep to cleanse your follicles to remove any nasty and unpleasant toxic build-up. Their products like Zinplex use natural ingredients like fenugreek, sage, thyme and zinc as well as other skin and hair friendly herbs to help remove the many years of chemical-rich shampoos that may have built up around and on your scalp.

Why Laser Hair Removal is the Way to Go

There are some beauty routines that we undergo despite the pain, with the ultimate desire to look our best! Hair removal is one of these, and while the traditional methods of shaving and waxing are effective, the latter is undoubtedly painful! What is the alternative?

Without any doubt, the best and least invasive – let alone least painful – method of getting rid of unwanted body hair is that of laser hair removal, and it is becoming very popular indeed. What is it all about, how does it work, and should you be using it? Let’s have a closer look!

How Laser Hair Removal Works

Laser hair removal may sound like science-fiction, but in fact it is a simple and proven method of getting rid of unwanted hair quickly and permanently. It is also completely harmless, and will always be carried out by trained persons.

A targeted beam of light – the laser – is aimed at the hair that is to be removed. The hair heats up very quickly, and this burns and kills the follicles from which it grows. The wavelength of the light can be adjusted expertly so that it is at the correct level for your pigmentation – a very clever factor that reduces the risk of damage to the skin.

Your technician will also apply cooling gel to the area treated, which will help reduce any minor pain you may feel. The result differs between individuals, but in all cases the dead hair will fall out – sometimes very quickly, sometimes over a few days. The hair will regrow, although in some cases it does not, but after a few treatments the rate of growth will be so slow that you may go without noticeable hair in the treated area for months at a time.

Where to Find Laser Hair Removal Treatment

It is important that you attend a salon that provides laser hair removal treatment by way of an expert practitioner. Although a simple routine, it does require knowledge of how to use the equipment properly. Among the leading providers of Miami laser hair removal solutions are the team at Body Details, and they have many satisfied clients who use their hair removal and other services on a regular basis.

They offer laser hair removal treatment for all areas of the body where it is safe to perform – including the bikini line, face, legs, underarms and back to name just a few – and they provide friendly and professional service every time. Every member of the team is qualified to a relevant level and has been trained in the use of the equipment to the highest standards, and their comfortable Miami premises are welcoming and friendly.

Body Details offers a free consultation for every individual, after which they will give you a cost for your hair removal treatment, as every person is different. Why not get in touch with them right away, and see just how you can enjoy pain-free, effective laser hair removal at a sensible price.

How to Treat Male Baldness

Male pattern baldness is something that many men have to deal with. Have you started seeing the tell-tale signs of baldness occurring and are worried about losing confidence as a result of it, or have you already started to suffer the full effects of hair loss? It can be a hard thing to contemplate.

For many, their hair is part of their very identity, so it’s not surprising if you are feeling a little fraught or even depressed as a result of baldness. So, what do you do? To help you out, we’ve put together a guide to some of the best options for treating male hair loss.

Include more Protein in Your Diet

In order to encourage the growth of new hair, your body needs protein. Therefore, one way to increase the chance of naturally growing your hair, you need to add more protein to your diet. Some of the heathiest proteins you can add includes:

  • Seeds
  • Lean meats
  • Nuts
  • Fish
  • Eggs
  • Beans

Increase Your Iron Levels

Along with protein, another nutrient you could be lacking in meaning you are becoming increasingly bald is iron. Iron also helps encourage the body to grow hair and some of the best sources of iron includes:

  • Turkey
  • Lean beef
  • White beans
  • Spinach
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Oysters
  • Lentils
  • Clams

Consider the Benefits of Aromatherapy

As well as helping you relax and improve your overall mood and wellbeing, aromatherapy has been shown to be effective at stimulating new hair growth. Some herbs that you should consider using when trying aromatherapy includes:

  • Tusli
  • Thyme
  • Rosemary
  • Lavender
  • Cedarwood

You need to be careful when using these essential oils that you only use a few droplets mixed into a carrier oil, like walnut oil or coconut oil. It is also thought by some researchers and study conductors that inhalation of the oil’s scents could encourage and stimulate hair growth.

Although this is not an exact or fully proven science, it may be worth trying if you are feeling a little desperate.

Laser Hair Treatment

One suggestion that may prove to be more successful than those mentioned above is laser hair treatment for male hair loss. If the idea of using a laser on your sensitive scalp sends a shiver down your spine and makes you feel nervous, don’t let it. It’s not nearly as dangerous or extreme as it may sound.

Let’s be real here, it may not bring back all your hair, but laser hair treatment can help you to have a fuller head of hair. It works by stimulating the hair follicles to produce new hair, and it works on even those hair follicles that have not produced new hair in months even years.

It is pain free and is an effective defence against hair thinning.

There may not be an overnight success style remedy to hair loss, but if you are suffering from baldness or the onset of baldness, especially premature baldness, you should give the above suggestions a try.

Reducing the Confidence-Knocking Effects of Female Pattern Baldness

Hair thinning and hair loss are natural parts of growing old. Given how important it is in helping us feel feminine and shaping our face in the best way, however, it’s not surprising that female pattern baldness can come as a real shock. It not only has an impact on how you look, but it can also have a detrimental effect on your self-esteem and self-confidence.

Androgenetic alopecia, as it’s otherwise known, unfortunately, is normally a hereditary condition that’s irreversible. The effects of this type of baldness can vary from person to person. Does that mean there’s nothing you can do about it? Below, we ‘ve highlighted some tips and treatments you can use to reduce the effects and improve how your hair looks and feels even if you suffer from female pattern baldness.

Minoxidil

Probably the most well-known treatment for female (and male) pattern baldness, Minoxidil is the only medication of its kind that has full FDA approval. The most popular brand is Rogaine. It is applied directly to the scalp and has been shown to encourage the regrowth of a considerable amount of hair. Even if it doesn’t bring it all back, it increases the thickness and volume of the hair you do have.

One of the major downsides of this form of treatment, as effective as it can be is the fact it takes around 6 to 12 months of use before you’ll see any significant changes. Therefore, it’s not ideal if you need more immediate effects. There are also some side effects you should consider before opting for it like – hair growth in unwanted areas, like your cheeks, as well as an itching sensation, dryness, and redness around the application area.

Spironolactone

As a diuretic, Spironolactone can help to reduce the excessive level of fluid in your body. This also blocks the production of androgens, which can help stimulate hair growth. The problem is that using it could result in some unpleasant side effects, such as:

  • Tender breasts
  • Irregular menstruation
  • Spotting between your periods
  • Fatigue
  • Imbalanced levels of electrolytes

Maximum Hair Thickening Serum

One great hair loss treatment for women could be the Maximum Hair Thickening Serum from Hair Restoration Laboratories. This serum is applied directly to the hair and includes a special blend of natural ingredients designed to fight and block DHT. DHT or Dihydrotestosterone is the sex hormone thought to be responsible for both female and male pattern baldness. IT makes sense, therefore, that by blocking this hormone, you could reduce hair thinning and hair loss.

Unlike Minoxidil, once you have started using this serum as part of your daily grooming routine, you will notice a significant difference in the look and feel of your hair almost immediately. While it still won’t reverse the problem, it will encourage regrowth, while improving the overall health and consistency of your hair.

What’s more, there are no side effects from using it because it is free from paraben, sulfate and any other chemicals and irritants that are likely to cause discomfort around your scalp and in your hair.

All You Need to Know About Microblading Eyebrows

Well-tended eyebrows can make all the difference to your look, yet it is not always easy to get them right. This is one reason why many women are choosing to undergo a relatively new treatment that is fast becoming popular – that of microblading. If it sound painful, rest assured it’s usually not – it’s rated mild to none and the best in the business use an anaesthetic liquid to negate the pain – so what’s it all about, and why should you be considering having microblading treatment?

Why Choose Microblading?

There are many reasons why microblading eyebrows makes a lot of sense if you really want to look good, so let’s talk about the procedure in some more detail.

First, it’s important to be aware that microblading is a manual procedure – that is, it is carried out by a fully trained and experienced beautician – rather than an automated machine-driven one, so it takes a lot of care and expertise to get right. It comes in the category of ‘permanent make-up’, lasting between 9 to 18 months, and is a less invasive technique than many others.

You may hear it referred to as ‘eyebrow embroidery’ in some cases. The technique involves the use of very fine needles – three times thinner than used in standard procedures – with which an eyebrow is effectively etched onto the skin in minute detail. This is where the expertise of the practitioner comes into play.

Among the advantages of microblading are that it is more permanent than some other treatments, it applies the pigment closer to the skin surface for greater effect, and it is very effective at replacing lost brows or enhancing those that are thin. Overall, it’s a treatment that is becoming more popular all the time thanks to a combination of sensible pricing and effective results.

Touch Up Recommended

If you do decide to go with microblading – and we should say at this point that it is often undergone by men as well as women – then it is highly recommended you undergo a touch up session around 4 weeks from the initial routine. This will help enhance the effect and give you the  best possible results for the next 9 months or more. It’s a simple procedure – a minor microblading procedure if you wish – that will not take long.

The procedure works so well as the pigments used are applied to the outer layer of the skin, rather than within, and are very finely added. Many top salons provide microblading services – Simone in Manchester and London for example – and you will find the prices to be very competitive for such a long-lasting treatment.

If you need your eyebrows enhancing or have scarring in that area microblading is the perfect choice of treatment. The first session will take no more than 90 minutes in which the technician will shape and style your eyebrows to your approval, and the follow up session will be no more than an hour, so why not have a look at microblading in more detail and get the beautiful eyebrows you have always wanted.

Quick ways to grow hair

Hair is an important part of personality for both men and women. Every woman dreams of long, strong, shiny hair. But what to do when hair does not want to grow? This article presents all known natural ways to make hair grow faster, describes how to choose the right product for hair thickening and what a proper diet should look like in order to support this process.

What for hair growth

Hair growth and the speed of the whole process depend on many factors. First of all, you need to be patient to grow long hair. On average, hair grows 1-2 cm longer in a month. Secondly, a comprehensive approach is required: proper diet, cosmetics, and scalp care. And if that is not enough, you can reach for homemade, proven methods of our mothers and grandmothers. You can also help yourself with professional treatments such as mesotherapy, carboxytherapy, and cryo massage. Before proceeding to treatments it is worth consulting a trichologist, who will expertly assess the condition of the hair and choose the appropriate treatment and procedure. I tip hair extensions is a good idea, if you want to have long and shiny hair.

Pills and supplements for hair growth

Improving hair growth involves reviving the existing damaged hair follicles. The body needs a lot of energy to make hair grow faster. Including certain foods in your diet can accelerate hair growth. What vitamins are responsible for faster hair growth? The key is to eat foods (or supplements if you have problems with proper nutrition) that contain omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, vitamin C and D, and iron.

If iron levels are too low (anemia), less iron is delivered to the hair follicles, which disrupts the hair growth cycle. Vitamin A is needed by the body to produce a substance called sebum.

Cosmetics for hair growth

There is a wide variety of cosmetics available today, but what is the right shampoo for hair growth and what should it have in its composition to be effective. Hair growth promoters also known as anti-hair loss agents are unique ingredients added to cosmetics. They are characterized by high potential to stimulate cells to grow. They are so effective that they are used to treat baldness. They can be of synthetic or plant origin. The most popular include ginkgo biloba extract, aloe vera and proanthocyanidins. We all know that caffeine can give you a boost of energy, but one study found that it can also affect hair growth. Based on the results, the compound may help promote new hair growth at the molecular, cellular and organ level in both men and women. Another important ingredient in hair growth treatments is essential oils and oils. In one study, a daily dose of 400 milligrams of pumpkin seed oil in capsule form applied to the scalp caused hair growth in men by 40 percent. Among essential oils, peppermint oil is one of the more effective, which is why it is a common ingredient in hair growth blends.

How To Put On a Wig

Women have been wearing wigs for approximately 3,000 years. They are a fashionable accessory that will complement the best outfits. However, putting them on is not easy if you don’t do it the right way and this guide hopes to teach women how to put on a wig with wig tape.

Step 1: Get your wig ready before applying your best wig tape. Unscrew the hairpiece from its base and shake it gently to get rid of loose hairs around your scalp. Brush your real hair well to remove any dust or dirt on it. Put on some styling cream or gel if you wish to fashion wavy tresses, but make sure that you only use a small amount.

Step 2: Put on the wig base first before you apply the hairpiece onto your head. This will keep it in place and ensure that no strands of real hair are stuck between the two pieces. Slide the wig base down to your forehead so that it is slightly loose around your face and then pull it back gently until you feel it pressing against the back of your head. You could also opt to put on a solid wig cap, but wig tape is easier to use and takes less time.

Step 3: Take out the wig tape from its packaging carefully and then separate one piece from the rest. The pieces should have adhesive at each end of them. Peel off any excess adhesive from the ends and then slowly stick them together. You could also use a spatula if you find it easier to smoothen out the wrinkles on the tape.

Step 4: Position your hairpiece at the back of your head and hold it there with one hand while applying wig tape over it with your other hand. Start from underneath and smooth it out upwards. You should end up with a thin layer of tape that covers the whole back of your head, from your forehead to the nape of your neck.

Step 5: Cut off any excess wig tape and remove the part covering the hairpiece on top of your real hair. It is also important to remove any strands of hair between the tape on your face and the base below it.

Step 6: Now is the time to style your hair and tie it into a ponytail before you put on the front piece of your wig with wig tape. Braid two strands together or apply some styling gel if you want to produce wavy tresses, but keep the hair at the front of your head loose.

Step 7: Bring the two strands up to your forehead and then take one strand from underneath them. Secure it with another wig tape that is facing upwards, from beneath the top layer of wig tape on your forehead and tilting outwards towards your ears. Make sure that you smooth it out downwards towards your temple so that it blends in with the rest of your wig tape.

Step 8: Keep doing this until you reach the back of your head. You will have to switch over to a new piece of tape whenever you reach an existing piece or when there is no longer any adhesive left on your current one. Don’t worry if you end up with a few tiny gaps between the tape.

That’s how to put on a wig with wig tape! The back of your hairpiece should be secure and you will look just like any other lady wearing a hairstyle that is complete with wavy tresses. It is also important that you do not use too much wig tape. You should only need a thin layer of tape to keep your hairpiece firmly in place.

How to Pick the Best Hairbrush for Your Hair Type

$

0

When done right, brushing your hair not only leaves you looking great, but feeling great too. That is if you are faced with the daily drama of trying to drag a brush that’s not suitable for your hair type. Given the fantastic array of different hairbrushes that are available these days, the simple task of buying the right one can be extremely challenging and stressful.

To give you a helping hand and nudge you in the right direction, then, we are going to take the stress out of the process and highlight what you need to consider when choosing the right hairbrush for your hair.

Hair Type

There are various factors and aspects of your hair that determine its type and condition. Its elasticity, texture, growth rate is just a few, along with indirect influences such as the hair products you use, the weather, and your diet.

To break things down simply though, the basic types of hair could be categorized as follows:

  • Normal – hair that is neither very thin nor thick. You can use most hairbrushes with this type of hair.
  • Thin – thin hair is normally finer, lacks any real volume, and tends to become oily much quicker than other types of hair.
  • Thick – by comparison, thick hair is more volume and bigger, can become very frizzy in humid environments, and knots up easily.

You next need to think about the bristles of hairbrushes.

Types of Bristles

For Thin and Normal Hair

If you have thin or normal hair, boar bristle brushes are ideal. They help to condition your hair naturally, which means you do not need to wash it as frequently. Natural boar bristles are best for daily styling and grooming. However, if you are looking to part and section off thin or normal hair, you are best using combs with teeth set at different spaces. These will help to work through short or long hair and detangle easily.

For Thick Hair

When it comes to working with thicker hair, however, it is actually best to opt for brushes that have plastic pins, as these offer the best level of control. You can use them for detangling and light styling work. If your hair is especially long or long and curly, opt for a cylindrical hairbrush. Particularly one with metallic pins as these makes detangling easy minus the static. A wide-tooth comb might be your best bet if you are looking to do more labor-intensive styling on dry or wet thick hair.

Type of Brush Body

Finally, the last thing you need to consider before buying a hairbrush is the body. It really depends on your specific styling needs. Vented brushes, for example, are great for blow-drying as they allow the hot and cold hair to pass through the brush through to your hair. Brushes with rubber cushioned bases help to reduce static and breakages while polishing your cuticles. While flat brushes are perfect for general grooming and straightening. Round brushes are great for smoothing and shaping.
